New Movie coming in September

Yesterday, we had the producer of the new movie "Fireproof" give a pre-viewing of their new movie. If you remember, this is the church in South Georgia that made the movie "Flywheel" and "Facing the Giants". Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany Georgia
is doing awesome things through this type media. Having seen the entire movie now, I have to say, this is the best yet. I cried through much of it and it is so much like real life. I won't tell you about it so that I don't ruin it for you when it does come out in September. For the men, they also intend to give a 40 day assignment which is a "fireproofing of your marriage". I whole heartedly recommend this movie and it's a must for married couples to see. God is all over this movie and the Gospel is very plain and convicting and I believe many people will come to Christ and many marriages will be healed after viewing this movie. If a couple comes away from this movie without being changed, then I'm not certain if they can be changed. It's a must for men and women and you will agree with me, I'm sure, that it is so much like real life as each of us know it. When I lived in Tennessee, in addition to working at a bank, I was also a volunteer Firemen. My Father in Law and his Father in law were both volunteers and in fact all the fire calls came in through their phones at home. This movie was filmed using the Albany Fire Dept. and many of the things they did, reminded me of days gone by. One of the important things that firemen are taught is never leave your partner. If you do, bad things can happen. This is true in real life and in marriage and obviously this movie drums home the importance of sticking it out and backing your partner up. OK, I said I wouldn't tell you about the movie and so I guess I sorta did, didn't I? OK, no more, you have to go see it when it comes out in Sept. I'm told it will initially be seen in over 1000 movie theaters. Go see it. OK

Now that I have placed a big advertisment for this movie, I guess I should talk about something else. If you have read Beth's blog, you can tell that in body she is still at home but in mind and spirit, she has already gone to Disney World. Now she made mention that "her dad always says that he doesn't know where people get the idea that they deserve a vacation". Now Beth tends to stretch that statement to mean something that I really didn't mean. She has the suttle ability to do that you know. What I really mean is that I see people everyday who will go on vacation even when they can't afford it and will use credit cards to do so and when then struggle all year long just to try and make ends meet. That type of thinking comes with, "I deserve a vacation, I've worked hard and I've earned it." That type of thinking is just ludicrous. Now I'm grateful that Beth and hubs don't do that, but as a Dad, I'm always trying to teach and I'm grateful that hopefully my three daughters have learned from "old dad". Did I mention that my youngest daughter is leaving the same time Beth is, but they are going on a carribean cruise. Lisa and her husband just came back from vacation and so soon all three will have gone and come back and then I'm going to rub it in good because I am then going on that vacation that nobody deserves. KNOw what I mean Vern.

I'm looking forward to the movie. You told just enough about it to peak people's interest, you didn't give anything away.

What do you mean you are going on a vacation that nobody deserves? Did I miss something? You arent going to Destin without us are you? Because that would be grounds for divorce (I mean the kind where kids divorce the parent).

Behtanne, you know what the Bible says about Divorce, so don't go there and your always welcome to come, but I know your too busy with the new house and I will be leaving shortly after you get back.
Love ya bunches, Dad

Thank you for sharing. I haeven't seen their other movie, "Flywheel"...but when "Facing the Giants" came out my husband and I were recovering from a miscarriage and his work was struggling so it really hit home. I praise God for these guys...I sure hope more and more films like that come out. I have canceled cable and use netflix so I can select what is viewed in my home...it sure would be great to have more dramas, action, and comedies that were clean. I love Andy and all...but sometimes you just want to watch a movie without all the extraneous garbage that comes with it. Then if there can be a message about Jesus, to boot, well that is just a wonderful bonus!!

Thanks for not giving too much away...can't wait until September.

What do you mean you are going on vacation???? You aren't taking us? There is something very wrong with this picture! I am not happy at all with this! I don't recall you clearing this through the "Beth & Lisa Board".

The Beth and Lisa Board? I've never heard of that Board. I find it amazing, that Lisa sends her kids to a foreign country and goes on vacation without any invitations at all. Then come Sunday, Jenny leaves on a cruise and the only thing she wants from me is take her to the airport. Sunday, Beth leaves for Disney and says "we'll be back in 10 days or so, but again, no invitation did I hear. Now let's talk about that Board again! What was the name of it? You girls are a "hoot" and I dearly love my girls more than life itself. Your the greatest!

You know you are always invited on our vacations (havent you gone with us the past 3 years for at least a few days?). If I recall correctly when I told you we were going to Disney, you checked prices and said it was too expensive. Now, where you goin'? I will talk with the other board member and see if it can be approved without having to take chaperones.

I've always heard that when your young, your parents care for you and when your old, your children then become the parents. I'll go along with that. Get the Board together and vote and while your doing that, see if you can get the Board to donate a little money toward my endeavor. Your both a hoot. love you anyways. Dad
